Agencia Cubana de Derecho de Autor Musical (ACDAM) was established by Resolution No. 150 of 12 December 1986 of Cuba's Minister of Culture. Subordinated to the Cuban Institute of Music, it is the sole body authorised to manage the copyright of musical works in Cuba on behalf of national creators and rights holders.
ACDAM represents over 8,500 rights holders and maintains reciprocal representation agreements with approximately 140 collective management societies covering 186 countries. Its first international agreement was signed in 1990 with Italy's SIAE. The agency licenses music users, collects fees, and distributes royalties both domestically and internationally.
ACDAM is a member of CISAC. It operates on a non-profit basis and handles all forms of copyright in musical works including public performance, reproduction, synchronisation, and broadcasting rights.
