APDAYC (Asociación Peruana de Autores y Compositores) is a non-profit collective management organization founded on 20 February 1952 in Lima, Peru, by composer Eduardo Márquez Talledo. It was created to protect the economic rights of musical authors and composers, and in 1996 the Peruvian intellectual property authority INDECOPI formally authorized APDAYC as a collective management society under national copyright law.
APDAYC is a member of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) and of the Bureau International de l'Édition Mécanique (BIEM), allowing it to administer both performing and mechanical rights on behalf of its members. Through a network of reciprocal representation agreements with CISAC and BIEM member societies, it collects royalties generated by public performance, broadcast and mechanical reproduction of its repertoire in Peru and abroad.
The organization is the primary rights administrator for musical works in Peru, licensing commercial users including broadcasters, streaming platforms, live venues and businesses. It distributes collected royalties to Peruvian authors and composers, and ensures that rights holders of foreign repertoire performed or reproduced in Peru are remunerated through the applicable bilateral agreements.
