ARTISJUS (Magyar Szerzői Jogvédő Iroda Egyesület) is Hungary's collective management organisation for composers, lyricists, literary authors and music publishers. The tradition of collective rights management in Hungary dates to 1907, when the Composers' Cooperative (Zeneszerzők Szövetkezete) was established — a lineage ARTISJUS claims in its own centenary publication covering 1907–2007.
The current legal entity was registered in 1996–1997 as successor to the state Copyright Protection Office that had operated during the socialist period. ARTISJUS manages both performing and mechanical rights, licensing public performances, broadcasts, online uses and private-copying levies across the world music repertoire on Hungarian territory.
ARTISJUS is a member of CISAC, BIEM and GESAC, representing over 20,000 domestic rights holders alongside international repertoire held through reciprocal agreements.
