BURIDA (Bureau Ivoirien du Droit d'Auteur) is the sole collective management society for copyright and neighboring rights in Côte d'Ivoire. Created by Decree No. 81-232 of 15 April 1981 under Law No. 78-634 of 28 July 1978, it started operations on 1 June 1981. Reformed in 2008 into a société civile de type particulier, it operates under the Ministry of Culture and Francophonie and is headquartered in Abidjan.
BURIDA's mandate is to promote and defend the material and moral interests of authors, performing artists, and producers of phonograms and videograms in Côte d'Ivoire and abroad. It licenses intellectual property works to users, collects royalties, and distributes them to its members. As of 2024, it manages approximately 135,000 works and serves over 9,500 members, making it one of Africa's largest CMOs by collection volume.
BURIDA is a CISAC member and has established reciprocal representation contracts with partner societies including SACEM (France), SACD, SPEDIDAM, SABAM (Belgium) and BBDA (Burkina Faso), ensuring cross-border royalty collection. It is also a member of IFRRO since 2008.
