IMRO (Irish Music Rights Organisation) is Ireland's national performing-rights organisation, operating as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. It administers performing rights in copyright music on behalf of Irish songwriters, composers and music publishers, as well as members of affiliated overseas societies, covering public performance and broadcast use of music throughout Ireland.
Established in 1988, initially as a subsidiary of the UK's Performing Right Society, IMRO became fully independent in 1996 and has grown to more than 17,000 members. It is a member of CISAC. In 2024 it reported licence revenue of EUR 53 million and distributed EUR 46 million to rights holders.
IMRO administers performing rights exclusively — mechanical rights in Ireland are handled by MCPS via PRS for Music. Beyond licensing, IMRO is active across the Irish music ecosystem, supporting awards and industry initiatives.
