NCB (Nordisk Copyright Bureau) is the Nordic mechanical-rights organisation, founded in 1915 and headquartered in Copenhagen. It licenses mechanical rights — the reproduction of music on physical and digital recordings — and synchronisation rights for audiovisual productions, on behalf of composers, lyricists and music publishers across the Nordic region. NCB is a member of BIEM, the international body for mechanical-rights societies.
NCB is owned jointly by the five Nordic performing-rights societies — KODA (Denmark), STEF (Iceland), STIM (Sweden), Teosto (Finland) and TONO (Norway) — and acts as the region's shared mechanical-rights licensing hub covering Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Since 1 July 2020 it no longer administers the Baltic territories it previously covered.
