OSA (Ochranný svaz autorský) is the Czech Republic's collective management organisation for musical copyright, founded on 9 October 1919 by a group of composers and publishers including Karel Hašler. It administers performing rights, mechanical-reproduction rights and broadcasting rights on behalf of composers, lyricists, their heirs and publishers.
OSA is a co-founding member of both CISAC (1926) and BIEM (1929), placing it among the oldest and most internationally embedded societies in Central Europe. It maintains reciprocal agreements with around 100 partner societies worldwide, giving its more than 12,000 domestic rights holders access to internationally collected royalties.
OSA has invested in service modernisation in recent years — including an online licensing e-shop with a cost calculator and monthly accounting — and has acted as the single collection point for Czech collective administrators since 2018.
