The Société des Auteurs, Compositeurs et Éditeurs de Nouvelle-Calédonie (SACENC) is the sole collective management organization for copyright in New Caledonia, established in July 2004 and headquartered in Nouméa. It was admitted as a member of CISAC in 2006 and operates under a mandate analogous to that of SACEM in metropolitan France, collecting and redistributing authors' rights for music and supporting artistic creation in the territory.
SACENC administers public-performance rights and mechanical reproduction rights on behalf of over 1,400 members drawn from New Caledonia and neighbouring Pacific territories including Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna, the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and French Polynesia.
The organization licenses music users across the territory, distributes the collected public-performance royalties to rights holders, and funds cultural projects annually through a dedicated cultural-action budget. A private-copying remuneration scheme was approved in 2024.
