The Société Sénégalaise du Droit d'Auteur et des Droits Voisins (SODAV) is Senegal's multipurpose collective management organization, covering music, dramatic arts, visual arts, literature, audiovisual works and choreography. It was constituted in December 2013 by Senegalese rights holders under the 2008 copyright law, replacing the former Bureau Sénégalais du Droit d'Auteur (BSDA); presidential approval was granted in February 2016 and operational handover occurred in October 2016. Its headquarters are in Dakar.
SODAV administers both performing and mechanical rights for its members, as well as neighbouring rights for performing artists, phonographic producers and publishers. As a CISAC partner, it has signed for the use of CIS tools (IPI, WID, AV Index, CIS-Net), enabling international rights monitoring, and it joined SCAPR as an associated member in 2025.
SODAV is frequently cited by CISAC and WIPO as a model of institutional success for collective management in Africa, and has concluded reciprocal agreements with international societies, licensing music users in Senegal and distributing royalties to domestic and foreign rights holders.
