The SOPROQ (Société de gestion collective des droits des producteurs de phonogrammes et de vidéogrammes du Québec) is a non-profit collective rights management organization. The SOPROQ collects and distributes royalties from public performances, reproduction of sound recordings and music videos for its members. The SOPROQ also manages royalties from the private copy regime. In addition, the SOPROQ also negotiates with music suppliers and grants licenses for the use of recordings and videos from its repertoire, which includes almost 2 million tracks from approximately 4 000 rights holders located in Quebec, Canadian provinces. The SOPROQ works with record labels, artists, distributors, associations etc.
