Teosto is Finland's copyright society for composers, lyricists, arrangers and music publishers, responsible for performing rights in Finland. Founded in 1928 by Finnish music creators including composers Erkki Melartin and Leevi Madetoja, it is a non-profit association and a CISAC member. It collects and distributes royalties for all public use of music in Finland and manages international royalty flows through agreements with around 100 societies worldwide.
Teosto represents more than 40,000 music authors and publishers, and in 2024 collected a record of roughly EUR 89 million in royalties, distributing funds both within Finland and to foreign rights holders for Finnish repertoire used abroad.
For Nordic mechanical rights, Teosto is one of the five co-owners of NCB, which handles reproduction rights centrally for the region; Teosto's own mandate focuses on performing rights.
